It has burgundy number markings from -30 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, with the numbers marked every 10 degrees. At the center of the thermometer is the classic Coppertone advertisement picture of a blonde little girl in red swimsuit with a black dog pulling down her swimsuit bottoms to reveal pale skin. The edges of the lithographed picture form a circle border, and within the circle text reads, “Don’t be a paleface / Tan, / Don’t Burn / with / Coppertone.
